If the tapered design is real, the mockup almost certainly has it upside down. The thickness and weight would be at the bottom, not at the top. Otherwise, it would be an ergonomic disaster.

Given that Topolosky's people couldn't figure that out (or their source told them their mockup was correct), it suggests that the source is not good or Topolosky's people can't interpret leaks worth a damn.

Apple would be out of their mind to enter this market...

They have a low cost device that can hook up with any TV in the market today... So why would they ask consumers to choose their ENTIRE TV set-up to get at "that on steroids." That gets them into a crappy margin business (they have 60%+ margins on their blend of products, TVs are about 5%...)

Far more likely is an "Apple TV on steroids" which we all know is possible with an A5 chip, apps, etc etc....

Look for that offering... Not a TV....

I am excited to hear that the CPUs released in January will finally be making it to a Mac in May. I totally understand the delay. It doesn't make much sense to anyone but Intel to release mid range chips months before the high end ones so Apple has little choice but to hold back the iMac lest it hurt sales of Mac Pros and MacBook Pros.

I'm not excited by the idea that the iMacs may continue to ship with 16:9 mirrors. Apple is a premium brand, the least they could do is offer true anti-reflective glass (not the fuzzy matte finish that used to adorn displays).

I'm not sure there's anything we can do about the 16:9 issue. The entire LCD industry seems determined to give us screens optimized for entertainment rather than information gathering or document production. Maybe what we really need is a display that can rotate 90 and still look good. Then I could stick a pair of 9:16's side by side.

I'll make the assumption that I'm going to lose the vote so I'll get some last analysis in while I can.

Make note of the people who voted for me.

Jav - Still not sure if he voted for me to silence me or because he was still mad at me for the last game. He is acting (voting) the same way he did last game.

Based on the above info, UCF is the best probability of getting a WW tomorrow. If UCF is a WW, then it's most likely that either Nies or Eldiablojoe is the other one.

Hardly voting same way as last time. Also, I'm voting against you for previously stated reasons. When the game started I got my PM which was also sent to you. Because of that (me wanting to feel special it was a unique own PM) I vote for you this game.

However people didn't get the joke. As per silencing you, meh... Could care less since I am no wolf, not that I can prove that in any way or form.

Hopefully, the websites that provide their videos through a legacy Flash wrapper will soon be providing their users with a choice.

I am elated that iOS Safari has no Flash support. I do not want the CPU suck, the identity suck, the unpredictable behavior, and the exposure to Adobe bugs. If you want those things, feel free to get an Android device.

It would be better if Apple provided its users with a choice of whether they want to enable a flash plugin or not in their devices instead of screwing us all over by making so many web sites unusable (although I'm sure the author of Skyfire is thrilled about that choice since it's making him rich beyond his wildest dreams all because Apple is run by an egomaniac).

You could always do this. I have my own domain name and host on MobileMe.

Though I haven't figured out how to use an email address using my domain name and have mail hosted via MobileMe. I wish they would add that feature.

as do i. right now you cannot use a custom domain name on mobileme email. thats why i use Google Apps, which offers this MX record functionality for free.

    Heres my probably wrong theory:
    Fashion island got them yesterday.
    South Coast got them today.
    Spectrum tomorrow? Maybe =\.

Mystikal: Irvine got some today, but I was the first person turned away, the person in front of me got the last ticket.

I called Mission Viejo today and they said to try again tomorrow. I think they are getting supplies in the afternoon, but holding them until the morning. My local Target (MV) said a week for theirs, but they only had less than 10 on opening day.

I'm going to try Irvine again tomorrow, but EARLIER this time! :) I'm still bummed I missed it by one today.

"Q on Mac Pro demand. A: Very positive reaction to Mac Pro. Still feel there is a delay in purchasing related to Creative Suite (Universal)"

They said the same thing about pro desktop sales when we were waiting on a carbon version from Adobe. Then, it was released and Pro sales didn't increase. Too bad you can't put Xeon in a MBP :P

I think this is different. Our company is not buying any Intel-based macs until Adobe releases Universal CS, and I don't know why anyone would spend $$ on new hardwre now only to take a performance hit, vs. a performance increase and better hardware bang for the buck by waiting 6-9 months.

    wohoo!

I would be greatly interested in this. Likely would not buy the first generation. It would aso depend on size and actual features. Ive been greatly disappointed in the revamp of the apple tv and am looking for apple to do more for my living room than this past pathetic attempt at ATV2.

This keeps up, just a matter of time before Rupert or one of the Merdock's gets a seat on the board of Apple. One more nail in the coffin of the Starnoff model of television distribution.

Update looks great, especially the new graphic card options.

I am disappointed that the SSD prices are the same as last year. US$600 for a 256GB SSD option. I was hoping for a big price reduction. (or at least a little price reduction...)

This is ridiculous. Obama needs to get on the phone with Steve and set up a meeting to see what can be done with this. The iPhone is a national treasure and to see it's design go backwards is going to cause a loss of jobs and a further increase in gas prices. Completely unacceptable.

Another one from the shoot last week from the 15th floor at Canary Wharf. This one is really a testament to what you can do in Aperture: it looked nothing like this (but I am OK with that: for me it's about the end image)

Earlier today, a MacRumors reader notified us that the white iPhone 4 is ever so slightly larger than the black iPhone 4. It's a small difference, but enough that the white iPhone 4 wouldn't fit in his Incase slider case:Just picked up the white iPhone 4 and realized it doesn't fit into my Incase slider case. It appears that Apple has increased the size of the plastic that borders the glass on both sides by about 1mm.

Based on the verdict of the markets it would seem that Apple's potential is not so great...but you know better than that right ;)

I know better than to make to much of the market's verdict on any given week.

Why would you buy a product you're not impressed with? "Man, this iPod sucks so hard. *drool* I think I'll buy it!" Is this some kind of new teenage lingo? :D

Sometimes I buy products I'm not impressed with to impress the people who don't understand my cool new teenage lingo.

I for one think the Apple experience with iPhone 3GS which is still being sold at retail, will encourage them to privately have iPhone 4 have a 3 year product life.

What was so special about the 3GS's experience for Apple ? The iPhone 3G was sold at retail until mid-2010, just like the 3GS is still sold now in 2011.

This is just their motus operandi, last gen iPhone for 99$ in a 8GB format. If anything, the 3GS followed the same path as the 3G up to now and one would expect a 8 GB iPhone 4 to surface once they ship the iPhone 5.

While I am willing to believe that the iPhone5 won't be available in June/July (no none announced it for that time and it is only 'expected' by people because it was that way the last couple of years, but nothing official) - I don't think that AT&T Customer Reps know anything about it. Same goes for Apple Store Employees and probably 99.9% of the people employed by Apple.

reassuring to me even if it only means I will be able to buy computers that run a Mac OS for the next 15+ years.

Exactly. Stating the obvious, bbut now that you can run windows, I think the growth is unavoidable. All the companies that were "thinking" about converting can give OSX a try while running windows. 5%, here we come!
