Currently, the iPod nano (2010 version, or 6th generation) cannot playback video on its touchscreen. Attempts to play mp4 or m4v files will only output the audio track, not the video.
Some are hoping that Apple will come up with a firmware update to allow video to show on the screen, but until then, no.

Anyone have any info on lines at either Coconut Point or Waterside in Estero/Naples? so far? I'm at work till 6 and the wife's gonna wait in line once grandma can get to the house to watch the kids. Update would be appreciated!

I'm an Apple fan, but the truth has to be told: a) 3.5" is TOO small to be practical. I have a Motorola DEFY with a 3.7" display, and even then, the on screen keyboard is not large enough in portrait mode, at least 4 to 4.3" is vital. A larger display is also easier on the eyes when reading lengthy texts. b) Lack of camera shutter release is a major and idiotic decision. You cannot take self portraits, further it is not possible to simply pick up the phone (as you can with some Android and even WP7 handsets) and press the camera button to fire up the camera and shoot away without needing to hit an icon on the 'desktop' first. c) Lack of standard MicroUSB port means having to rely on Apple cabling - forget the cable and you're hosed if no one else has one. d) Call quality is not good enough for serious use due to the design flaws. Yes, it may be a superb gaming and multimedia phone, but I know many people with iPhones and have owned a 3GS, and when talking to them, the call quality is not as good as other brands, further, they lose signal more easily. (Here in the UK.) e) Reliance on iTunes is another hindrance. You feel chained to your main computer. With an Android phone, you are liberated.
Again, I'm an Apple fan, I have an iPad and desktop Macs, but the design flaws in all iPhone models have made that platform too much of a liability.
Let's hope iPhone 5 features ThunderBolt, a larger display, a dedicated camera shutter release and that iOS 5 removes iTunes from the equation.
Consumers are getting savvy thanks to the enlightenment (and lower cost) that Android delivers. Google are keeping Apple in check, and that's good for us consumers!

If they are willing to sell the product at a $100 loss, that's their choice. You may not have a warranty, etc, because they aren't "authorized" by Apple as a price-controlled reseller, but that doesn't mean it's illegal for them to sell it.
I sold my iPad on craigslist at a loss. I'm not authorized to do that and Steve doesn't care.

There's been reports of battery issues to. I haven't tested it myself, but it seems like I'm getting less battery life since 4.3.1, which is what many others have been saying. I don't know how widespread this isssue is, though.

Starting today I'm getting an annoying popup only on Macrumors
It's kinda purpleish, doesn't make sense, say's "collective media" on the first line. No Idea what it is but I don't like it.
If this stays, I will frequent Macrumors far less.
How do I stop it?

I find that people who claim supporting Macs is just a labor-intensive as supporting Windows machines are those who haven't implemented Macs properly and really don't know what they are doing.
Why do Windows machines use Group Policies? To push software out to machines, sure -but the real reason is to lock down machines that are by their very design security risks.
I have to use Windows 7 at work in order to run Cisco tools I use. It is a brand new machine, but nevertheless
1. I have had to fix the registry twice after installing Opera -if you install that into Windows 7 the system starts generating security errors and warnings, and you can no longer open hyperlinks in Outlook. This is Microsoft preventing you from installing 3rd party browsers into Windows 7 -I don't have these issues on my Mac (I run 3 browsers there)
2. Many 3rd party and legacy applications do not work correctly, even when run in compatibility mode. I had to rig the system to run some of these apps (more wasted time).
3. The antivirus slows down the system
I could go on and on, but this is a productivity issue: I am not as productive on Windows as I am on a Mac. Microsoft has been in disarray for years and it shows. Why on Server 2008 does the utility "Server Management" and "Manage Server" point to 2 totally different applications? Sounds like someone is shipping off projects to India and not paying attention.
Now before I get accused of MS bashing, I will point out that MS makes excellent front-end applications such as Office. This is where the company shines (Access is really great product). They just make crappy operating systems and servers.
If you use Open Directory and Preferences, you can control networked Macs. You can use shared libraries to further enhance this. Problem with a mac? Use screen sharing to go check it out. I put in a all-OSX network in a medical center not long ago -not one MS product used. It even included iPads that doctors would carry around to interface with a web-enabled database. Aside from a general question here and there, I never get called about serious system issues. That network is rock-solid.
People stick with MS because that is what they know, and they are scared of OSX/Macs. We are moving to a web-based infrastructure and the old client-server model that MS is based on is going away ...

Hey guys, n00b question here: I recently bought iFlat4 HD for my fourth gen iPod Touch. It's an amazing theme and I love it, but I just saw iFlat 2 HD on Themeit. Just wanted to know witch ones newer and better and what the differences are. Another thing is when I applied iFlat4 the Camera, Maps and Photos icons stayed stock, any way to fix this?

A WHAT? .exe "scripts" are Windows executable programs, not available for use on the Macintosh operating system (and also have nothing to do with web design and development)

Ad plays silently but when moused over the audio blasts out at a loud level, well the volume did happen to be set at 11... highly obtrusive.

Not sure how people have gotten the idea that only Google has map data...
Maps are old, people. They've been digitized for a damn long time. There are good sources of data available should Apple want to go in that direction.
Now, when you talk about StreetView, yeah, that may be something of an issue.

I've probably got the wrong end of the stick as usual, but I use the web access for iDisk that is already there - I haven't downloaded any applications at all for my work Windows laptop. Is this what you meant, or was there something else on top of this?Well kind of, but that's very limited. It doesn't support drag and drop, icon or column views, file previews, searching, .zip archiving and unarchiving, etc. In other words, all the goodies you get in a Finder window (including iDisk Finder windows). Using AJAX technologies, most of that should be possible, as they are doing for the Mail application. And as I said, making folders individually password-protectable (separate passwords, unlike now where it's one for the whole disk) is a priority for me.
