just to clear something up. This right now appears to be a text-based phone. I don't think Wu is talking about iChat AV functionality. Some other sites (of much, much less accuracy) have been claiming that the iPhone would be able to do videoconferencing and whatnot, but currently there isn't any good evidence to support this, and in my opinion it doesn't look like current 3G GSM cellular networks simply don't have the duplex bandwidth to deliver that kind of content. (and 4G is still a ways off)

I realize that you didn't question the legality but another poster (that I originally quoted) did. I am aware that the buyer will not be required to pay, and he shouldn't be. I just can't stand people that automatically declare something illegal because they think it is wrong. It seems to be a common practice these days.

This is the third time I've noticed this. I charged my iPad last night and this morning it was 100% I did not use the iPad all day, save to check the %, right now, without using it ( it's 830 pm), it's at 59%? what's going on? We have an iPad and that one takes forever to run down...I have not used this one all day!

No problem :) Not sure if the Michael Jackson one will look the greatest considering that the music video that the shot was taken from was filmed in the late 80s but it should still look fine.

Because if you opt out on the iPad app they don't get your information at all.
They will need this information to offer you a better deal once they come out with the HTML5 version of their app. At that point they will bypass the Apple store and its 30% cut altogether. You will pay less for the content and FT will make more money then they do now.
It's a win-win for both you and FT. Apple, well, not so much.

I use Google Talk on my BlackBerry quite often. It's a great program. I would assume that iChat support needs to be standard on an iPhone. If they added VOIP later on, that would be AMAZING! They haven't added it to Google Talk yet, because that would use the data network and not run up your minutes, which service providers don't want to do.

Also, what is so bad about the iOS notification system? I just hit "Close" if I don't care about a notification at that time.
Let's say I'm driving in my car through a city. Every 20 yards a huge window pops up blocking the view onto whatever I do (mostly Google Maps because I try to find my way) just to tell me there are 5 new Wifi Hotspots in my vivcinity and I have to close it while I'm driving. This is the reason why I have to constantly go to Settings/Wifi/Off and then switch Wifi on again later.
Also every stupid text comes up with a huge blob that blocks the view and I have to have a hand free to close the window.
At the same time when my Phone is in a dock there is no way to easily see what and how many messages are waiting. I have to slide, type my pin, navigate to home screen and look at the little red indicator on various apps.
It's just ten years behind what others have.

This is rather amusing. People rush out to buy cheesy $30 iPhone Bumpers that cost .10 to make or some other overpriced case and have no issue. Many even buy multiples before they decide on one.
But ATT raises the cost of a early upgrade phone by $50 and people go bonkers.
1) It's an early upgrade. Do you really need to upgrade your phone sooner than every 18 months? If you do, that is your decision as a consumer. You certainly have no God given right to a cheap upgrade though. Stop whining.
2) Inflation is here. Deal with it. Have you been to the grocery store lately? It's the price we pay when the Fed prints money like Chinese knock-offs.
3) Last I checked the government enacts laws regarding the cell phone industry and also regulates the frequencies. There has never been anything stopping either congress or the executive branch or independent commissions from imposing rules to require cellcos to unlock phones after x months of service or to require them to sell unlocked phones.

I have no problem with homosexuality, but it is a legitimate medical prohibition given the higher risk factors for blood disease. Straight men that sleep with hookers, and intravenous drug users are also banned on the same grounds. I'm not gay, but I take offense to the idea of equating homosexual activity with "sleeping with hookers, and intravenous drug users". Just because someone is gay doesn't mean they sleep around, just like someone who is straight doesn't just sleep around. This is something that you should probably reflect on, in that gay people can be just as likely or not to sleep around and behave in risky ways as straight people can.

This is a great offer. But how about unlimited calls to any states in the US? I think it would be very good for a subscriber who wants to call anywhere in the US. thanks.
AT&T's cellular plans are already nationwide. Unless of course you want unlimited international plans which I don't think are ever going to happen.
